"CHAG-CHAG-HORSES PARADE" TO GO
  Beautifully dressed "umakko"(horses in Morioka dialect) parade
 over 13kilo-meters along "tambo" rice fields of suberb and historic
 buildings  in the city from the "Soh-zen-jinja Shrine" of Takizawa
-city to the Morioka-hachimangu-shrine of central Morioka to reach 
their goals."Chag-chag" is Moriokan dialect which means the sound of
the numerous bells the horses wear, so to say,"jingle-jingle" in 
English. You can vist the start point "Onikoshi-sozen jinja shrine" 
by shuttle buses and 30minutes' walk. Time table is on the map shown
below(in Japanese only, sorry for inconvenience). 500 yen single or 
one-way fare. Mayor horse leads the parade and they say almost over
60 horses parade this year. At the goal, Hachiman-gu shrine the 
ceremony will be held for the longtime dedication to this event. 
Believe it or not, some people receive awards for their 50-years-
contributions to this historical parade.
